The Fourth Street Paint Rule

So after taking my $200 beating, I won it all back at the low limit 7stud Hi/Lo game. They say that there is a lot to be learned about life from poker, and I think that's true. This game has one very simple rule, and it's called the fourth street paint rule. As long as you wait to enter the pot with your top hands and follow this simple rule, you'll tear up any low limit game. It goes like this: If your hand doesn't improve on fourth street, toss it.

Correlation in real life? Be selective in what you get involved in, and when it turns into a loser, dump it quick. Otherwise, you'll be put into a situation where you have to keep it until the river.
